Federation would like to discuss with you a proposal for the green steel 
definition developed under the leadership of the German Federation, as crucial 
prerequisite for future lead markets of green steel. Our proposed system is 
compatible with the concept of the International Energy Agency (IEA). We 
would like to show you how its implementation in commercial reality can make 
a significant contribution to the ramp-up of green steel and booster the 
transformation of steel.  
 
These lead markets are increasingly important as at the moment the business 
case to invest in the EU steel production is much weaker than in other regions, 
due to the European energy crisis, the high unilateral ETS costs, uncertain EU 
decarbonisation rules and more attractive policies of some of the EU's major 
trading partners like the US.
