Meeting on Challenges of the European Steel Sector
Dear Sir/Madam,
Pursuant to Regulation (EC) No 1049/2001 regarding public access to European Parliament, Council, and Commission documents, I hereby request access to all documents related to the meeting held on 13 February 2025 in Brussels regarding the challenges that the European Steel sector faces.
The meeting was attended by:
- Miguel Jose Garcia Jones (Cabinet member, Cabinet of Commissioner Wopke Hoekstra)
- Representatives from Eurofer
I request access to the following documents:
- All correspondence (emails, letters, memos) exchanged between the European Commission (including Commissioner Hoekstra’s Cabinet) and Eurofer regarding the meeting, before and after the event.
- Preparatory documents, including briefing notes, agendas, talking points, or background reports prepared for the meeting.
- Presentations (slides, reports, documents) shared during or related to the meeting.
- Meeting notes and minutes, including any conclusions or follow-up actions.
- A list of all participants, specifying their roles and affiliations.
- A summary of the topics discussed, covering key challenges, proposed solutions, and any agreements or policy commitments made.
If any documents contain confidential or exempt information, I request that redacted versions be provided where possible. Additionally, if the requested documents are available in digital format, I would prefer to receive them electronically.
Should there be any costs associated with processing this request, please notify me in advance. I appreciate your time and consideration in handling this request and look forward to your response within the timeframe stipulated under Regulation 1049/2001.

Hello,
We are writing concerning your request for access to Commission documents
registered on 19.03.2025 under case number 2025/1574.
We are currently working on your request. However, we have not yet been
able to gather all the elements necessary to carry out a full analysis of
your request. We will not be able to send you the reply within the
prescribed time limit expiring on 09.04.2025.
Therefore, in line with Article 7(3) of [1]Regulation (EC) No 1049/2001,
we need to extend this time limit by 15 additional working days. The new
time limit expires on 06.05.2025.
