of your application for access to documents, which was registered on 16
June 2021 under reference number GESTDEM 2021/3963.

In accordance with Regulation (EC) No 1049/2001 regarding public access to
European Parliament, Council and Commission documents, your application
will be handled within 15 working days.

The time limit will expire on 7 July 2021. In case this time limit needs
to be extended, you will be informed in due course.

You have lodged your application via a private third-party website, which
has no link with any institution of the European Union.

Therefore, the European Commission cannot be held accountable for any
technical issues or problems linked to the use of this system.

Please note that the private third party running the AsktheEU.org website

Dear Mr Augosto,

We refer to your e-mail of 16 June 2021 in which you make a request for
access to documents, registered on 18 June 2021 under the above mentioned
reference number.

Your application is currently being handled. However, we will not be in a
position to complete the handling of your application within the time
limit of 15 working days, which expires on 7 July 2021.

An extended time limit is needed as the application concerns documents
from third parties whose approval for disclosure is required.

Therefore, we have to extend the time limit by 15 working days in
accordance with Article 7(3) of Regulation (EC) No 1049/2001 regarding
public access to documents. The new time limit expires on 28 July 2021.

We apologise for this delay and for any inconvenience this may cause.

Yours faithfully,

Dear Secretariat General of the European Commission,

Please pass this on to the person who reviews confirmatory applications.

I am filing the following confirmatory application with regards to my access to documents request 'Meeting with BusinessEurope”

In regards to the minutes provided, it is with surprise that I realise they provide no meaningful transparency on what was actually discussed in this meeting.
Is this the level of detail expected from the minutes of a meeting of this importance or is this an anomaly?
Is there any recording of the meeting from which more detailed, meaningful minutes could be extracted?

A full history of my request and all correspondence is available on the Internet at this address: https://www.asktheeu.org/en/request/meet...

Yours faithfully,

Diogo Augusto

Dear Secretariat General of the European Commission,

Please pass this on to the person who reviews confirmatory applications.

I am filing the following confirmatory application with regards to my access to documents request 'Meeting with BusinessEurope'.

I am going to assumer the email I have received today was sent in error. Let's quickly go over the facts.

Your account:
15/6 - initial application
9/7 - confirmatory application due to delay in receiving a reply
14/7 - reply to my initial request submitting required documents

The facts:
15/6 - initial application
6/7 - letter sent to me requesting extension
9/7 - reply from you sending documents
9/7 - confirmatory request (on the basis of what actually was disclosed)
12/7 - new email from me as I had not received confirmation my confirmatory request had been received
13/7 - confirmation of reception of my confirmatory request dated 9/7
16/7 - reply to my confirmatory request

In short, your reply to my confirmatory request bares very little resemblance with reality.

Therefore, I shall make the request once more hoping that, this time, it will be clear:

In regards to the minutes provided (file names "Redacted lobby records.pdf"): I understand that they provide no meaningful transparency on what was actually discussed in this meeting. Upon reading those minutes, no person that wasn't in the meeting will be able to have an idea of what was said.
Is this the level of detail expected from the minutes of a meeting of this importance or is this an anomaly?
Is there any recording of the meeting from which more detailed, meaningful minutes could be extracted?

For the sake of transparency and to avoid further misunderstandings: is this the only record held by the EU of what was discussed in such an important meeting?

A full history of my request and all correspondence is available on the Internet at this address: https://www.asktheeu.org/en/request/meet...

Yours faithfully,

Diogo Augusto

Dear [email address],

6 working days have gone by since I sent my confirmatory request and I am yet to receive so much as an acknowledgment.
