Meeting with Dutch MP's about agricultural/environmental topics, including the nature Restoration Law

The request was successful.

Dear Parliament,

Under the right of access to documents in the EU treaties, as developed in Regulation 1049/2001, I am requesting documents which contain the following information:

Minutes, communication, correspondence and other documents regarding meetings of a delegation of Dutch members of Parliament on 22nd of May 2023 with EU bodies such as the European Commission and the European Parliament. One of the topics discussed was the nature restoration law.

Since the information might at least partly also concern "activities affecting or likely to affect" the "state of the elements of the environment", I believe Regulation 1367/2006 applies.
Should you encounter any difficulties in interpreting or processing my request, I am ready to discuss ways to clarify or amend it to keep the effort required on your part to the necessary minimum.

Please send me an acknowledgement of receipt for this request, as foreseen by Article 7 (1) of Regulation 1049/2001. I would appreciate it if you could send a list of documents that correspond to my request. Please note I prefer to receive the documents in digital format, not by physical mail.

Yours faithfully,

Jan Daalder

European Parliament

Our reference: 2023-3643

Dear Mr Daalder,

With regard to your application for public access to documents, Parliament
asks for a clarification under Article 6(2) of [1]Regulation (EC) No
1049/2001, which states that "if an application is not sufficiently
precise, the institution shall ask the applicant to clarify the
application and shall assist the applicant in doing so, for example, by
providing information on the use of the public registers of documents.".

Specifically, in your request you mention "meetings of a delegation of
Dutch members of Parliament on 22nd of May 2023 with EU bodies such as the
European Commission and the European Parliament".

Could you please specify the meetings you refer to, providing us with
details about where they took place, between which parties and on which

topics specifically?

On this basis, and pending receipt of your clarifications, the legal
deadlines laid down in Article 7(1) of Regulation (EC) No 1049/2001 cannot
run. This is due to the fact that Parliament is currently not in a
position to process and evaluate your application pursuant to Regulation
(EC) No 1049/2001.

If Parliament has not received your clarifications within 20 working days
of the date of this e-mail, your application will be considered as
withdrawn and the file as closed.

Best regards,

Dear European Parliament,

In a report by Dutch MP's from October 2023 on the nature restoration, they write this:

'3.3 Bezoek aan Brussel d.d. 22 mei 2023
Het bezoek aan Brussel werd uiteindelijk een bezoek van een grote delegatie van de LNV-commissie aan een aantal instellingen in Brussel, waarbij over meer voorstellen werd gesproken, maar waarbij de Natuurherstelverordening hot topic nummer 1 was.
Onder meer werd gesproken met:
- de plv Permanent Vertegenwoordiger bij de EU over het krachtenveld en beïnvloedingsmogelijkheden;
- de Eurocommissaris voor de Green Deal, de heer Timmermans, die de delegatie van de LNV-commissie meenam in de besluitvorming en achtergronden en die oog had voor de zorgen van Nederland. De zorgen van de commissie over het verslechteringsverbod buiten Natura 2000-gebieden en de stapeling van effecten konden bij hem rekening op begrip in een constructief gesprek;
- een aantal Europarlementariërs, die inzicht gaven in de discussies in het Europees Parlement en met wie enkelen van onze leden pittige discussies hebben gevoerd.'

You can find this report here: https://www.tweedekamer.nl/kamerstukken/...

I do not know which Dutch MP's were present at these meetings, but you can find all members of the agricultural parliamentary committee here: https://www.tweedekamer.nl/kamerleden_en...

Regarding the meeting with Mr. Timmermans, I have submitted a similar request with DG Envi. But because the Dutch MP's also spoke with MEP's, I am also submitting this request with the European Parliament.

Yours faithfully,

Jan Daalder

which have now been published, after redaction of marginal personal data,
on Parliament's [2]Public Register of documents, under the register
