Dear Mr Mes,

On behalf of AmCham EU, I would like to thank you for meeting with members of our Digital
Economy (DEC) and Transport, Energy and Climate (TEC) Committees last week. We very much
appreciated you taking the time to cover a wealth of topics, not only on Executive Vice-President
Frans Timmermans’ digital and transport related priorities, but also considering the current
circumstances of the global pandemic and the EU’s crisis response and economic recovery
strategies.
As promised, please find our positions on Connected and Automated Mobility here and Power
Purchase Agreements here. Last week we also submitted a response to the AFID inception
impact assessment, which you can find here. As we continue to develop these further and other
positions on key files, we would be pleased to share them with you. The TEC Committee is also
currently working on a position paper on the EU Climate Law as well as the Strategy for
Sustainable and Smart mobility and we would be happy to share those once they are published.
Another AmCham EU committee, Agriculture and Food Committee, is also working on a position
paper related to the Farm to Fork Strategy, which can be shared as well. Furthermore,
collectively our DEC and TEC Committees continue to work on AmCham EU’s positioning and
priorities to support the European Green Deal.
For now, I would also be pleased to share AmCham EU’s recently published statement, which
highlights that solidarity, the Single Market and international cooperation are crucial to
overcoming the crisis and require further action to support the EU’s response and economic
recovery. Please also find a link to a section of our COVID-19 public portal on the business
response to the crisis and how our member companies are doing what they can to help local
communities in Europe and around the world.
In copy, please find

 of the AmCham EU
, and
, TEC, who you spoke with last week.

We were delighted with the opportunity to virtually meet and look forward to continuing the
dialogue in support of our shared goals. AmCham EU has forged our reputation on being a key
source of information. Therefore, should we be of any further assistance, please do not hesitate
to reach out.
Kind regards,
