wanted to discuss a series of topics: CCS and Hydrogen
explained the work developed by Shell in providing CO2 offset solutions.
He presented he way Shell is looking at solutions to decarbonise the maritime, aviation
and road sectors. Decarbonisation of long distance freight and the role of hydrogen.
Hydrogen provides longterm solutions for transport.
presented the work done in Canada on CCS and that several other
projects are ongoing especially around ports. They are using old gas field to store CO2
which are offshore and the best place for storage.
explained the cooperation that have now started between the industry
and some countries.
The Commissioner presented the Green Deal and in particular the level of the
discussion on hydrogen as a priority for 2020 and the review of the TENE regulation
planned for the end of 2020. She also explained that the Commission is working on the
decarbonisation of gas and that funding for gas projects through EU through EU funds
will be received with the TENE review of 2020 in line with the aims of the Green Deal
