Minutes: ECSA expressed that national ship owners are being locked out of finance due to the
sustainable finance climate taxonomy; they had received anecdotal evidence that in light of the
2025 deadline for review of the technical screening criteria, uncertainty is causing banks to halt
lending. The expressed support for the revised state aid guidelines and would like to see the
taxonomy better reflect these. They expressed serious concern for the upcoming environmental
taxonomy and the draft criteria for the shipping industry.
