Meetings between Commissioner Michael McGrath and U.S. officials on McGrath's March 2025 journey to Washington, D.C.

Dear DG JUST,

Michael McGrath, the European Union's justice commissioner, visited Washington D.C., on March 13 and 14.

According to the transcript of a CSIS event McGrath attended, he has met with the chair of the Federal Trade Commission, Andrew Ferguson, apparently on March 13:

Under the right of access to documents in the EU treaties, as developed in Regulation 1049/2001, I am requesting documents which contain the following information and documents:

- All minutes, agendas, summary, memos and any other reports of this meeting, issued both in preparation and after the meeting took place. 


- All correspondence including attachments (including, but not limited to any emails, correspondence or telephone call notes) and follow-ups, between any Directorates General/the cabinet, Commissioner McGrath and U.S. officials/organizations or any intermediaries representing their interests. 


- All correspondence including attachments (i.e. any emails, correspondence or telephone call notes) and followups, between any Directorate Generals, the cabinet and Commissioner McGrath about those meetings, issued both prior and after.


- All documents prepared for the meetings and exchanged in the course of the meetings between both parties.

Please note that I wasn’t able to find this meeting in McGrath’s public transparency calendar:

Please let me know if there have been any other meetings with U.S. officials and Commissioner McGrath on that journey. If so, I am requesting the same documents as above.
