EIOPA ATD, European Insurance and Occupational Pensions Authority

Dear Meabh,

Thank you for your email.

We understand that your request involves 17 meetings, which is proving
burdensome for our small Legal Unit at EIOPA to handle in the short
timeframe foreseen. This unit handles applications for access to documents
(ATD), provides legal advice on complex matters such as regulatory
frameworks and policyholder rights, and oversees ethics, staff
regulations, and corporate governance. Given our limited resources and
high workload, the current volume of your ATD request poses significant
challenges.

In accordance with Article 6(3) of Regulation (EC) No 1049/2001, we
propose a solution to balance your interests with our capacity
constraints. To manage our workload efficiently, we suggest narrowing down
the scope of your request to documents from the most recent meetings in
2024. This focused approach will enable us to process your request more
quickly, without impacting negatively on our other tasks.

We hope you find this proposal acceptable. We will formally register your
request with EIOPA once we receive your feedback on our proposal.

Finally: please note that your application was submitted through
AsktheEU.org, a private third-party website not affiliated with the EU or
EIOPA. As a result, EIOPA is not responsible for technical issues or data
processing related to this website, which is subject to its own privacy
policy. Additionally, AsktheEU.org typically publishes correspondence,
including personal data. If you prefer to keep your correspondence
private, you can provide an alternative email address for our responses.
However, please note that you are responsible for updating the third-party
website with this change.

We look forward to hearing from you.

Kind regards,
