Thyssenkrupp presented its views on topical matters including the planned Carbon Border 
Adjustment Measure. Thyssenkrupp said that it is fully committed to the objectives of the Green Deal 
and expressed that they are investing in innovative new technologies contributing to significant 
reductions of the carbon footprint of their steel production. These investments will have a major 
impact on their cost structure. Thyssenkrupp said that certainty regarding the regulatory 
environment, maintaining a level playing field and protection against carbon leakage are essential. 
The CAB said that the Commission is addressing and working on the issues raised by Thyssenkrupp, 
including the Carbon Border Adjustment Measure. The CAB stressed that compatibility with our 
international commitments and the WTO rules are essential for all current and planned measures.   
The CAB thanked Thyssenkrupp for presenting its views and good cooperation.
