Meetings between The European House - Ambrosetti and the European Commission
Dear Secretariat General of the European Commission,
Under the right of access to documents in the EU treaties, as developed in Regulation 1049/2001, I am requesting documents which contain the following information:
I seek access to all documents and correspondence – including, but not limited to emails, letters, memos, briefings, meeting requests, agendas, minutes, and reports – regarding meetings of TEHA Group S.p.A., or The European House - Ambrosetti, with the European Commission.
My request covers all meetings between 1st January 2020 and 3rd June 2025 with this stakeholder, which has held different Transparency Register identification numbers, namely: 095081595373-70 and 625244214975-24. My request also covers meetings with this stakeholder during any period it has not had such an identification number.
Where exemptions apply under Regulation 1049/2001, I ask for partial access in accordance with Article 4(6), with refusals clearly justified by reference to the relevant provisions. I also would like you to assess if there is an overriding public interest in disclosure.
Only digital copies are required, please consider the environment by not sending me any physical mail.
I am of course available to clarify my request further if needed.
Yours faithfully,
Francisca Valentim

Dear Applicant,
Thank you for your reply. We are writing again concerning your request for
access to Commission documents registered on 03/06/2025 under case number

it down in some way. An institution-wide search will involve all European
Commission departments and will take more time. A more focused search will
help identify document quicker and save a lot of possible work.
In line with Article 6(2) of [1]Regulation (EC) No 1049/2001 regarding
public access to documents, we invite you to send us more detailed
information on the documents you request, such as references, dates or
periods during which the documents would have been drawn up, persons or

Dear Ms Valentim,
We are contacting you regarding your application for access to Commission
documents registered on 3 June under case number 2025/3125.
Given the wide scope of your request, the search of the requested
documents took longer than expected, as it required the involvement of
multiple Commission services and the screening of large files. We
apologize for any inconvenience that this delay might have caused you.
As of today, the total number of documents collected for your request
amounts to approximately 40 files, with around 80 documents originating
mostly from third parties.
Given the high number of pages to be examined (200), the concrete and
individual assessment of all of them - including the assessment of their
content under the scope of your request, the consultations of the services
and third parties involved in the correspondences, their redaction and
transmission with the final reply - would inevitably add further,
considerable delay to the handling of your request. In addition, it would
take one staff member working full time on this request only for at least
15 working days, which would entail a considerable administrative burden
for the Commission services.
Therefore, to safeguard and balance your interest in having access against
the workload on the Commission resources resulting from the processing of
your application, we propose, as foreseen in Article 6(3) of Regulation
1049/2001 for this type of cases, to reduce the scope of your request to
enable its treatment within a reasonable time and allow us to provide you
with a final reply as soon as possible.
To do so, we have collected here below information on the documents
retrieved, including categories/subjects covered by them.
The documents relate, mainly, to invitations sent by TEHA Group (formerly
The European House- Ambrosetti) to former/ current R&I Commissioners.
These are invitations to various fora and events organized by this entity,
(e.g. Annual Forum in Cernobbio, Italy, Open Dialogues for the Future,
Technology Forum, Forum Verso Sud, etc.), as well as related background
documents (list of speakers, programme of the event/forum, concept note,
information about TEHA Group/ European House -Ambrosetti). These
invitations can be split in approximately:
1. 45 addressed to former Commissioner Mariya Gabriel
2. 20 addressed to former Commissioner Iliana Ivanova
3. 16 addressed to current Commissioner Ekaterina Zaharieva
Considering that we can deal with a maximum of 25 documents, which is the
approximate number that, according to our estimates, could be handled
within 15 working days depending on the complexity of their assessment, we
would kindly ask you to select the documents you wish to have access to,
within 5 working days. In the meantime, should you have any question or
need more information to take an informed decision, please feel free to
contact us by return to this email at your earliest convenience.
Once we receive your final reply, we will proceed with the assessment of
the documents you selected and provide you with a decision as soon as
possible.
Best regards,

Once we receive your final reply, we will proceed with the assessment of
the documents you selected and provide you with a decision as soon as
possible.
