Dear Sir,

registered under case number EASE 2025/5931.
We are currently working on your request. However, we have not yet been
able to gather all the elements necessary to carry out a full analysis of
your request. We will not be able to send you the reply within the
prescribed time limit expiring tomorrow, 4/12/2025.
Therefore, in line with Article 7(3) of [1]Regulation (EC) No 1049/2001,
we need to extend this time limit by 15 additional working days. The new
time limit expires on 6/01/2026.

Dear Madam, Sir,
Thank you for resending the reply to case 2025/5931. I appreciate it.
However, I take issue with your statement that "for the future that all replies are only treated via EASE".
I would like to let you know I have tried using the EASE platform for a while, but I found it to be cumbersome and unreliable. It happened to me too often that replies or documents were suddenly lost.
More importantly, it is my right as an EU citizen to submit access to documents requests via the means of my choosing. Regulation 1049/2001 clearly says in article 6 an application for access to a document can be made "in any written form, including electronic form".
EU institutions have no legal basis to demand how citizens submit their access requests.
I would like to receive your confirmation that you will treat future requests I submit in "any written form, including electronic form" also if that means I am not using EASE. If not, I will file a complaint to the European Ombudsman about the matter.
