We are monitoring the situation and we've been in touch with ENTSOG
President Bart Jan Hoevers who
is vitally interested in the topic.
We will follow the EU storage level but also some specific cases, as the
situation may differ locally. We
observe that the media and analysts underline how unusual (critical) the
situation can be in some
countries/regions, even if at EU level the situation doesn't look so
critical.
Therefore to give a comprehensive picture, ENTSOG will perform an update
of the Summer Outlook to
see, with the current situation, whether the 80% target (historical low)
can be achieved for all storages
by 1 October or 1 November. We may also investigate whether the 90%
target can be achieved, if
relevant.
This will give us information on what level is achievable in each country
individually and we will be able
to compare with history.
Given the short notice, no report will be produced, but bullet points,
charts, maps and conclusions will
be circulated in a ppt format. I will make sure that you receive this
information from ENTSOG.
Attached you can find a letter that we sent to your cabinet few days ago
with the meeting proposal
between Mr Hoevers and Madame Commissioner. We would be grateful for the
information if such a
meeting could be established and what agenda items you could have in
mind.
