Your request concerns:
“1- all correspondence (including email, SMS, private twitter and WhatsApp) since 1st
February 2022 between Commissioner Timmermans, and/or his cabinet and/or officials
from DG CLIMA with representatives from Chesapeake Energy, Coterra Energy, EOG
Resources, EQT Corp in which the EU’s response to Ukraine invasion, particularly the
rePower communication was discussed.
2- any briefings prepared for Commissioner Timmermans, and/or his cabinet and/or
officials from DG CLIMA for meetings since 1st February 2022 with representatives
from Chesapeake Energy, Coterra Energy, EOG Resources, EQT Corp in which the EU’s
response to Ukraine invasion, particularly the rePower communication was discussed.

Please note that due to the wide scope of your request, covering also areas falling under the
responsibility of other Directorates-General, parts of your request have been attributed to the
Directorate-General for Climate Actioni. This reply relates only to the documents held by
Executive Vice-President Timmermans and his cabinet. You will receive the replies from
the Directorate-General for Climate Action in due course.
The Executive Vice-President Timmermans and his cabinet does not hold any documents
that would correspond to the description given in your application.
As specified in Article 2(3) of Regulation (EC) No 1049/2001, the right of access as
defined in that regulation applies only to existing documents in the possession of the
institution.
Given that no such documents, corresponding to the description given in your
application, are held by the Executive Vice-President Timmermans and his cabinet, the
Commission is not in a position to fulfil your request.
In accordance with Article 7(2) of Regulation (EC) No 1049/2001, you are entitled to make
a confirmatory application requesting the Commission to review this position.
Such a confirmatory application should be addressed within 15 working days of receipt of
