PFAS Working Group
Dear European Chemicals Agency,
Under the right of access to documents in the EU treaties, as developed in Regulation 1049/2001, I am requesting documents which contain the following information:
- List of members (including their institutional affiliation) of the so-called "PFAS Working Group", described as a "working group under ECHA’s stewardship to assess the hazards associated with PFAS substances, including persistence, mobility, bioaccumulation and toxicity", in the ECHA report "The use of PFAS and fluorine-free alternatives in fire-fighting foams".
- Minutes and agenda of meetings of the above-mentioned PFAS working group.

Dear Mr Runci,
Referring to our Teams teleconference of 10 June 2025 at 11:00 am - 11:10 Helsinki time relating to your ATD/053/2025.
The aim of this meeting was to discuss on how to prioritise optimally the documents to be disclosed and agree on a fair solution.
We briefly explained that the work of the PFAs Working Group led to the preparation of the "universal PFAS restriction proposal" by the five national authorities: The Netherlands, Denmark, Germany, Norway and Sweden.
As you had not indicated in your access to documents request ATD/053/2025 any timeframe, it was proposed to agree on the timeframe between 2020 - 2022 for the requested minutes and agendas of the PFAs Working Group.
The suggested timeframe was agreed with you with a promise from ECHA that the documents will be disclosed within the initial statutory deadline namely by 12 June 2025. If it will be possible to disclose the documents earlier that will be done.
