To DG EAC
re: transparency case number EASE 2025/6622

Dear sir or madam.

In a letter dated 22 December you have asked me for more information regarding Reality Checks - the type of consultation with selected stakeholders that I have inquired about.

Reality Checks is a new form of targeted consultations, presented in the Competitiveness Compass as well as the communication on simplification, and further described in an operational guidance.

Currently, the Reality Checks are exempt from rules on proactive transparency, which means that in some cases, the public has no way of knowing that a specific Reality Check has taken place.

For that reaon, I cannot give you dates on Reality Checks organised in your remit. Instead I hope you will investigate what Reality Checks your DG has organised, if any, and respond to my request accordingly.

Yours faithfully,

Kenneth Haar
