Dear DG Communications Networks, Content and Technology,

Under the right of access to documents in the EU treaties, as developed in Regulation 1049/2001, I am submitting the following access to documents request.

I seek access to the documents that contain the following information regarding Directive (EU) 2018/1972 on the European Electronic Communications Code (EECC):
• Documents received on threat-intelligence sharing on SS7 and/or Diameter security incidents as received from the Global System for Mobile Communications (GSMA) or the International Telecommunication Union (ITU).
• Documents submitted by the European Commission to the GMSA or the ITU, which relate to legal measures, security incidents, or other evaluations relating to SS7 and Diameter security risks.

I would be grateful to receive these documents as soon as possible and at most within the maximum 15 working days set out in Regulation 1049/2001. Should my request be for a large volume of information, I am open to discussing receiving an initial set of documents within the 15 working days and then the remainder within the single permitted extension of an additional 15 working days.

My postal address is Calle Príncipe de Anglona 5, 28005 Madrid, Spain. I am a European Union citizen.

If you have any questions or clarifications regarding my request, please feel free to contact me via the email address under which this request has been submitted.

Yours faithfully,

Helen Darbishire

sg-acc-doc@ec.europa.eu,

Dear applicant,

We are writing concerning your confirmatory request for access to
Commission documents for case 2023/5036 registered on 06/11/2023.

We are currently working on your confirmatory request. However, we have
not yet been able to gather all the elements necessary to carry out a full
analysis of your request. We will not be able to send you the reply within
the prescribed time limit expiring on 27/11/2023.

A new deadline is required since we are still gathering all the elements
to conduct our assessment.

Therefore, in line with Article 8(2) of [1]Regulation (EC) No 1049/2001 we
need to extend this time limit by 15 additional working days. The new time
limit expires on 18/12/2023.

We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.

Kind regards,

SG.C1 - Transparency, Document Management and Access to Documents

Dear European Commission,

Thanks for the most recent message, but I think you sent it linked to the wrong request

I believe it should be linked to this request: https://www.asktheeu.org/en/request/copy...

In any case, I do hope that it will not take you too long to process the confirmatory application as the original request was submitted on 28 August and was for one single document, with a reference number.

With best regards,
Helen Darbishire

Dear Communications Networks, Content and Technology,

I note that you have confused the messages between this request, 7004, and the other request 5036.
I would be most grateful if you could clear this up, so that the status on each is clear.

If you would like to discuss this with me, just let me know and we can arrange a time to talk.

With best regards,

Dear Ms Darbishire,

We refer to your message of 15 January 2024 requesting an update on the
status of your confirmatory request for access to Commission documents for
case 2023/5036, registered on 06/11/2023.

We would like to sincerely apologise for the delay in replying to your
confirmatory application.

In fact, the answers to confirmatory applications are formal Commission
decisions. The internal decision-making process involves the consultation
of several services, including of the Legal Service, after which a
decision may be formally adopted within the Secretariat-General.

Unfortunately, the only information that we can provide you at this stage
is to confirm that the necessary internal consultations are still ongoing
at present.

Please be assured that you will receive a reply from the Commission as
soon as possible.

Finally, we would like to apologise again for the delay in providing you
the final reply to your confirmatory application and for any inconvenience
caused by this delay.

Yours sincerely,
