Request for information Ref: Redacted Article 4 from the UK for CBD in MCT oil, submitted in October 2018
Dear European Food Safety Authority,
Under the right of access to documents in the EU treaties, as developed in Regulation 1049/2001, I am requesting documents which contain the following information:
The redacted Article 4 I am referring to is here:
https://food.ec.europa.eu/system/files/2...
On 26/05/23 the UK FSA sent me a different version, which includes words that do not appear on the file that was published by the EU in December 2019.
Under 'Reasons Statement: History of consumption', the FSA version which was sent to me by email states the following:
"Hemp oil which contains CBD and is produced by cold pressing has a history of consumption. Ethanol extraction process was used in the EU prior to May 1997 and is not considered a novel process"
What the EU published and what the FSA sent me are very different documents, subsequently I would like to ask for a full and unredacted copy of that redacted Article 4.
But you might not be able to give me that, so can I as if that is the case that you confirm whether the words quoted above are, or were ever, contained within that Article 4
Yours faithfully,
Cefyn Jones
