Dear Ms Angeli,
We are writing to you in response to your application under [1]Regulation
(EC) No 1049/2001, requesting public access to documents containing
official records for requests of various types from national authorities
concerning Members of the European Parliament, from January 2014 to
present. Please note that such requests typically relate to parliamentary
immunity cases and are usually announced by the President of the European
Parliament in the plenary and normally referred to the responsible
committee. Therefore, with regard to the kind of records sought by your
application, you are kindly invited to consult the relevant, publicly
available and readily searchable sources of the European Parliament, such
as [2]its webpage for the plenary or [3]the one for its Committees.
To facilitate your search, please note that these announcements are
embedded in the Minutes of the plenary sitting available at [4]the plenary
webpage for minutes, (mostly in the top/procedural sections, for example
titled Requests for waivers of immunity). You can find a more recent
example in the Minutes of the plenary sitting of 25 March 2026 [5]here.
You can tailor your search by a specific sitting in a given parliamentary
term, or by picking up a date or a period of time of your choice and can
use the available search function with the relevant key words (for
example, “immunity” or “competent authorities”).
For further official records of your interest, you may also consider
consulting the Draft agendas or the Minutes of the Committee for Legal
Affairs, competent for immunity cases. Such documents can be found [6]here
for the current term, or [7]here for the 9^th legislature, [8]here for the
8^th legislature by selecting “JURI Legal Affairs” as the committee
responsible, opting either for Draft agenda or Minutes as a document type
and entering the relevant keywords in the search fields after selecting In
text under Word(s). An example of such a search is available [9]here and
[10]here.
Similarly, you may also refer to the Parliament’s other public databases,
which may also be relevant for your purposes, the EP [11]Think tank
database, as well as the [12]Public Register of Documents, which can be
searched according to your specific preferences.
On this basis, Parliament considers your application handled and the
procedure closed.
Kind regards,
