Samos MPRIC Mission May 2022 & Monitoring Committee Kos Meeting June 2022
Dear Migration and Home Affairs,
Under the right of access to documents in the EU treaties, as developed in Regulation 1049/2001, I am requesting the following documents:
All documents – including, but not limited to, briefings, notes, papers, non-papers, or reports – and all correspondence – including, but not limited to, letters, e-mails, and any attachments – created or held by the Task Force Migration Management in DG Migration and Home Affairs (HOME) or exchanged between DG HOME representatives and any European Union or Member State representatives regarding the 24-25 May 2022 mission by DGHOME and other entities to assess security measures, including the surveillance system, at the Samos island MPRIC.
All documents – including, but not limited to, flash reports, briefings, notes, papers, tour materials, or detailed reports – created or held by the Task Force Migration Management in DG Migration and Home Affairs (HOME) or exchanged between DG HOME representatives and any European Union or Member State representatives regarding the 24 June 2022 Meeting of the Monitoring Committee of the national programs for the Migration and Home Affairs Funds, which took place on Kos island.

Dear Ms Emmanouilidou,
We are writing concerning your request for access to Commission documents
registered on 20.02.2023 under case number 2023/1149.
We are currently working on your request. However, we have not yet been
able to gather all the elements necessary to carry out a full analysis of
your request. In order to retrieve the documents requested, large files
have to be examined. Hence, we will not be able to send you the reply
within the prescribed time limit expiring on 13.03.2023.
Therefore, in line with Article 7(3) of [1]Regulation (EC) No 1049/2001,
we need to extend this time limit by 15 additional working days. The new
time limit expires on 03.04.2023.

I am contacting you regarding my confirmatory request for case 2023/1149, sent on 08/06/2023 and registered on 08/06/2023.
Since the expiration of the extended deadline of 20 July 2023, I have tried several times to reach your office to inquire about the status of this case -- on 24 July 2023 and 04 August 2023 via the AsktheEU portal, and again on 15 August 2023 via email (sent to [email address]). Regrettably, I have not received a reply on the now-long-overdue confirmatory application, nor a response to any of my communications regarding the status of the case.
I understand your office may be understaffed or overwhelmed during the summer months and if that is the case I would appreciate hearing from you and receiving an update on the anticipated delivery date of your reply. If I do not hear from you by 30 August 2023 I will be moving forward with a complaint with the European ombudsman, as I have now run out of other options to see this process forward as mandated under EU regulations. Thank you for your understanding.
