Hello,
Please find attached a message concerning your request for access to
Commission documents registered under the above case number 2025/3187.
Kind regards,
Dear Migration and Home Affairs,
Thank you for your reply.
To give you further clarifications:
On the 26/07/2021 the EC wrote (replied) to different Member States the following letter (excerpts).
“The Commission is aware of the increasing number of beneficiaries of international protection who travel legally from Greece or from other Member States, to another Member State, where they often apply for international protection again..
(…)
In order to facilitate comprehensive cooperation on this important matter, the Commission organised a first joint meeting among your services and the Greek authorities to further discuss the subject. Please accept our gratitude for the constructive dialogue. We look forward to receiving your concrete proposals and to continuing our joint work to identify tangible solutions for a satisfactory way ahead on the matters you have raised.
Yours faithfully,
Margaritis SCHINAS Ylva JOHANSSON”
Secondary migration is indeed to be prevented within the Common European Asylum System.
Therefore, can the EC communicate the Action Plan (or equivalent document that lists a series of measures) that are needed to be taken by Member States/SAC including (and primarily Greece from where most of the flows seems to come from ?) to prevent such secondary migration ?
Yours faithfully,
Eric Dumont
