Submissions to survey of Critical Chemicals Alliance on regulatory hurdles
Dear Internal Market, Industry, Entrepreneurship and SMEs,
Under the right of access to documents in the EU treaties, as developed in Regulation 1049/2001, I am requesting documents which contain the following information:
- all submissions to the EUSurvey 'Regulatory hurdles for modernisation investments and innovation' (which was open until 18 May EOB, according to https://ec.europa.eu/eusurvey/runner/Reg...
- any other correspondence concerning this survey with external stakeholders, and any collated results or analysis of the survey submissions (that has so far been done).
Please note, I am not requesting any personal data (e.g. personal names) included in survey submissions. However, I request that the names of companies or groups that submitted responses are not redacted. This is because there is a clear public interest in transparency around the which EU rules and laws - including workforce legislation, permitting rules and industrial environmental compliance obligations - are being identified by companies and industry lobby groups as 'hurdles' to their investments.

I am writing regarding my access to documents request registered under case number 2026/2997.
On 11 June, you wrote that you would handle my request within 15 working days, which would expire on 02/07/2026, and that you would let me know if you needed to extend this time limit for additional 15 working days.
However, I have heard no update since then, and it is now 14/07/2026. Please can you confirm if you have extended this deadline by 15 working days, and therefore what the new time limit is?

Thank you for your e-mail.
Your application is currently being handled. However, we will were not in a position to complete the handling of your application within the time limit of 15 working days, which expired on 02/07/2026.
An extended time limit is needed as in order to retrieve the documents requested, large files have to be examined.
Therefore, we have to extend the time limit with 15 working days in accordance with Article 7(3) of Regulation (EC) No 1049/2001 regarding public access to documents. The new time limit expires on 24/07/2026.
We apologize for this delay and for any inconvenience this may cause.
