Dear European Parliament,
Please pass this on to the person who conducts Freedom of Information reviews.
I am writing to request an internal review of European Parliament's handling of my FOI request 'Transitional allowance paid to ex-MEP Strasser'.
I would be grateful if you could do another search of the files and confirm whether or not ex-MEP Strasser submitted a request for transitional allowance. Also, could you confirm whether or not ex-MEP Strasser returned his 'Member of the European Parliament' badge.
A full history of my FOI request and all correspondence is available on the Internet at this address:

Dear Mr Hoedeman,
Following your request of 2 March 2012 under Regulation 1049 for further
information regarding Mr Strasser and the transitional allowance and badge
for MEPs, we are now sending you the following documents, in German:
- Application form for transitional allowance
- Financial identification form
These documents were annexed to the letter[1][1] sent by the EP to Mr
Strasser on 11th April 2011 outlining his right, as an MEP, to receive a
transitional allowance on resignation. We can confirm that these documents
were duly filled in and returned to the European Parliament by MEP Ernst
Strasser, in accordance with Articles 9 and 13 in the Members' Statute.
Concerning your question about the badge of Mr Strasser, this is covered
under the EP's internal rules on security and accreditation procedures.
According to these rules, all former MEPs keep their access badge to the
European Parliament, although the rules concerning their access to the
building differ from those of serving MEPs. Former MEPs can only access
the EP buildings during normal working hours; they can no longer access
the MEP car park, and can no longer invite any visitors other than their
own spouse and children.
