Updates data set on JO TRITON 2014 - 2018

The request was partially successful.

Dear European Border and Coast Guard Agency,

Under the right of access to documents in the EU treaties, as developed in Regulation 1049/2001, I am requesting documents which contain the following information:

An update on the previously shared dataset on boats rescued or intercepted by Joint Operation TRITON between 2014 and 2018 (as far as available for now).

Building on similar requests by Claudio Deiana Oct 8th 2018, Pauline Maillet, November 27, 2015 and Giacomo Battiston, September 03, 2017 I kindly ask you to include the following variables:

Operation/Year
Detection date
Search and rescue involved
Incidents
Total number of irregular migrants
Death cases
Irregular migrants in SAR cases
Type of detected by
Latitude detection
Longitude detection
Latitude interception
Longitude interception
Detection by Frontex financed/deployed asset
Type of intercepted by
Interception by Frontex financed/deployed asset
Operational area
Transport type
Reference to op.area
Frontex financed/deployed asset during an incident
Country of departure of the rescued boat

Observing that another request for data prior to 2014 has been rejected, can you tell me where and how to obtain data for SAR operations prior to JO TRITON and how far back data is available?

Yours faithfully,

Monika Halkort

Dear European Border and Coast Guard Agency,

Is it possible to add a dataset for all EUNAVFORMED/Sophia Operations to my previous request regarding JO TRITON? The same variables apply but the requested timeframe would be 2015 - 2018 (as far as available)

Yours faithfully,

Monika Halkort

Dear European Border and Coast Guard Agency,

Please pass this on to the person who reviews confirmatory applications.

I am filing the following confirmatory application with regards to my access to documents request 'Updates data set on JO TRITON 2014 - 2018'.

thanks for sending parts of the information I requested. I was quite surprised that more than half of the data categories I asked for were not included in the data set. i.e. geolocation data, the type of organisation involved in the SAR operation etc. You did provide this information to another researcher. See here: https://www.asktheeu.org/en/request/boat...
Why do you apply there different criteria for disclosing information? On what basis are such decisions made?

Thanks for now. I look forward to receive further clarification on that matter.

A full history of my request and all correspondence is available on the Internet at this address: https://www.asktheeu.org/en/request/upda...

Yours faithfully,

Monika Halkort
