why is not automatically the recognise in UK and Eu of the Italian master degree in Conservation and History of Architectural Building and Landscape Heritage ?
Dear Internal Market, Industry, Entrepreneurship and SMEs,
Under the right of access to documents in the EU treaties, as developed in Regulation 1049/2001, I am requesting documents which contain the following information:
I holds a master’s degree in accordance with italian Law No 341/1990) in Conservation and History of Architectural Building and Landscape Heritage awarded by the "Università degli Studi “Mediterranea” di Reggio Calabria" on 26/07/2006 and passed the State Examination entitling her to exercise the profession of “Architectural Building and Landscape Conservation” at the II session, 2006, at the "Università degli Studi di Palermo" and since then I am on the italian registration board of Architect under sez A, cat D.
The "Università degli Studi “Mediterranea” di Reggio Calabria" and the "Università degli Studi di Palermo" are state universities and part of the Italian University System and thus entitled to issue academic qualifications that are legally valid throughout the state.
Under the Italian University System, the "Diploma di Laurea" obtained in accordance with Law No 341/1990 is the equivalent of the "Laurea specialistica/magistrale" and is a higher-level further qualification in accordance with Article 3, Paragraph 1, Letter b of the Ministerial Decree No 509/1999 and No 270/2004, in other words equal to 300 ECTS. According to this my qualification in Italy is equivalent to the Architectural degree so why I am not automatically recognise in UK and Eu and cannot apply to the registration board for architect?
Yours faithfully,
E.Riolo
Dear Ms Riolo,
Please note that the changes to Annex V of the Directive can only be made
upon specific notification requests by Member States. The Commission has
no competence to introduce changes to the Annex unilaterally.
In your case this could only be done upon request of Italian authorities
via Internal Market Information System if your training programme complies
with the minimum training requirements as set out in Directive 2005/36/EC.
Thus, in case you cannot find your title and/or the University listed in
the Delegated Decision amending Annex V, you might consider contacting
Italian national authorities (or your university) to enquire if your
training programme complies with art. 46 of Directive 2005/36/EC and if
they intend to notify it to the Commission.
